LIFE IN SICILY autumn food/wine tour: an Italian adventure through western Sicily with Chef Linda Sarris + Di Giovanna winery
On this culinary road trip, guests will source local products and learn how to make the most of these ingredients in their hands-on cooking lessons. Participate in the local olive harvest and follow the story from the grove to the mill and into the kitchen. Linda Sarris is a NYC-based private chef who splits her time between meal planning for her mover-and-shaker clients and olive harvesting on travels around Sicily to write her upcoming mini magazine, SNACK Sicily. Her unparalleled love for Sicily, cooking, and her insider access to the best food and wine producers make her the perfect leader for exploring all the best things about Sicilian life, culture and cuisine.
Wednesday: welcome to Sicily, check-in, light lunch, evening passeggiata in historic Sambuca di Sicilia, wood-fired pizza with artisanal Sicilian beer tasting
Thursday: morning visit to a local cheesemaker, hands-on cooking class lunch, vineyard walk, wine cellar tour and dinner at Cantina Di Giovanna
Friday: optional morning yoga, participate in the local olive harvest, picnic lunch, visit the town’s mill + evening cooking lesson/dinner featuring new harvest olive oil and Sicilian amaro
Saturday: optional morning yoga and morning trip to Castelvetrano, visit a flour mill and ancient olive grove for lunch, evening cooking lesson + farewell dinner in Sambuca

ABOUT: CHEF LINDA SARRIS
Raised in a big Greek-American family with a Chef grandfather and a fisherman dad, Linda has been in love with food her whole life. She’s traveled to over 25 countries in search of caipirinhas, fresh octopus and oysters, volcanic wines + hardcore street food. After the French Culinary Institute and a few stints in restaurants, Linda took off to sharpen her culinary skills in her own adventurous way - working on a farm-to-table cooking school and wine estate in Sicily, spending two summers private-cheffing in Tuscany and consulting for restaurants in Bucharest, Romania and Bogota, Colombia. Linda now splits her time between New York City and Palermo while writing her travel guide, SNACKsicily.
