With the first in the SNACK series, SNACK SICILY is an ingredient-focused guide to eating + drinking your way through Sicily like a local.
SNACK is a perfect companion for chefs, travel groups, wine tours, and those family trips to find the long-lost village where your Nonna grew up. We're filling it with recipes, interviews with locals + insider tips for what to eat and drink as you travel the island. This beautiful project is a collaboration with several female artists and creators based in New York City.
The SNACK Sicily printed mini zine will be available in 2017.
Linda Sarris is a private chef based in Brooklyn, New York. A bit far from Sicily, but trust me there is no lack of connection to the places she shares in this beautiful guide.
Right after graduating from culinary school in Manhattan, she was selected for a scholarship that sent her straight to the Sicilian countryside. Without any understanding of the food, the culture, the language or the people, Linda arrived on the Regaleali wine estate under the wing of Fabrizia Lanza to begin a lifelong love affair with the island.
She has traveled around discovering the best dishes, restaurants, farms, products and wineries while flirting with old vendors in the markets, tasting raw shrimp from their fingers and hopping on motorini with strangers in search of the best knife shop in town. Always up for an eye-opening experience, Linda shares her love of Sicilia in the first SNACK guide.
